That makes it a lot less frustrating when you get stuck and you can't figure out if you're just missing something or if the game's expecting you to think in a way you didn't expect to have to. In these puzzle rooms, the goal is to use your abilities to reactivate old parts of your body and unlock new attacks. In addition to that, when it comes to more difficult puzzles, I think what's very important is that a game somehow communicates what expectations it has of you in terms of the possibility space you're operating in. The Ghostrunner can regain his old abilities by accessing the Cybervoid. While they fit in the spirit of RE, they don't work in the context of RE4 imo.
